TOOL · CHAPTER 3 · NOBODY IS COMING

# Pick the day you stop waiting.

Name the thing you're waiting for: a check, a call, a promotion, an apology, a better market. Then write down the date you'll stop waiting for it. Make it this month.

STOP-WAITING SLIPDATE

WAITING FOR

Name it.

ON THAT DATE

Nobody's coming. Good. Cut it to three steps and do the first one that day.

RULE 03

## The future charges for storage.

Every month you wait on the raise, the check or the other person, the problem you're not touching adds interest, and the man you're waiting on isn't the one paying it. You are. The day you stop waiting, you're the one collecting, and you keep everything you build.
