THE METHOD

The six moves.

The whole method fits in one sentence: every problem has a price, and every problem pays. The six moves are how you collect. Learn them one at a time, in this order.

  1. 1

    Say "Good."

Acknowledge the problem. Don't justify it. Don't blame anyone.

Taught in Ch 1 · Sharpened in Ch 4 Ch 10

  2. 2

    Own it.

You're the one in control of your life, so stop pointing fingers.

Taught in Ch 2 Ch 3

  3. 3

    Find the root.

Ask why, and keep asking until you're back at the beginning.

Taught in Ch 5 · Sharpened in Ch 7 Ch 9

  4. 4

    Price it.

Put a dollar sign on it, even when it isn't about money.

    Taught in Ch 6

  5. 5

Make the smallest move into uncertainty.

Start small, try something different, test it.

    Taught in Ch 8

  6. 6

    Make it stick.

Let the lesson hurt enough to remember, then stay disciplined.

    Taught in Ch 11

THE WHOLE MAP

Then point them at bigger problems.

Chapters 12 and 13 run all six moves in a different room, at home, and then point them at problems bigger than your own. The bigger the problem you can solve, the more people it pays.
